As this is about the "homosexual outing" of Alan Turing (Derek Jacobi) during the Cold War in post-War II Britain, we see him touching and hugging before an obvious liaison and "morning-after" confrontation. He admits his homosexuality and naively describes this activity to police when explaining a minor theft which leads to a charge of "gross indecency". After his release from jail, he meets his former best female friend and describes the effect of the estrogen treatment he has received as a condition of parole and his recounts his visit to Norway to meet other other gay men. In the final scenes before his suicide, he is seen lying semi-nude with a young Greek man asleep beside him.
