Amy Irving is seen in her white bra and panties. A nude man is waiting for her to undress in the background. His penis is visible but from a distance. Amy approaches the man and removes her bra and panties (implied). The camera then zooms out capturing both her and the man totally nude standing side by side. Amy's thick dark pubic hair and breasts are visible as is the man's penis.

From the plot it is clear that sex and nudity occur and form a key part of discussion in the film, with Joseph Svenden (47) simultaneously involved with Rosealee, a fellow teacher, and Catherine, a sexy 17 year old pupil. There are several scenes clearly showing Catherine (and Svenden) topless and making love, one with Catherine naked on a horse and one including full frontal nudity for Svenden and Rosealee. The scenes are clear, but not intensely graphic.

Guns feature in this film, particularly hunting. Wild birds are seen shot and brought in dead. Later a horse burns to death (the flames are clear, but the animal can't be seen clearly). A wolf is held in gun sites, but not shot.

Most of the conversation avoids profanity, but in contrast in some parts there is profanity, particularly intensive use of the word f**k (in its real meaning). Svenden also uses G*d, J***s C****t and J***s quite frequently. A**h***e is also used several times in one scene.

Frequent smoking. Svenden also frequently drinks and is shown drunk several times. Catherine's mother is discussed (and shown in one scene) as a drunk.

See violence and gore. The film builds considerable suspense over a possible shooting. An elderly mother is sick and in pain and her death is discussed. Her funeral is shown later. A barn burns down and a man goes inside to attempt to rescue two animals.
