The thing between the walls (one of the people under the stairs who has found his way out from under the stairs into the walls) shows the remaining stump of his tongue that was cut out.

One of the people under the stairs is shot off screen. He writes a girl's name in blood from his wound to help a kid find her. We see him die right after.

A woman is stabbed to death; she's pretty bloody. She also gets her arm bitten by one of the people under the stairs before hand and we see her wound.

The main villains are scary and extremley nasty.

Although the film is nowhere near as violent or graphic as torture porn films such as Saw or Hostel, the film is still very disturbing.
