The Name of the Rose (1986)

The film references monks giving a peasant girl food in exchange for sexual favors, homosexual relationships between the monks, and accusations of "intercourse with the devil".

We see a naked man (no genitals are visible) on an autopsy table twice.

Men kiss each other on the lips a few times.

A girl disrobes, revealing her breasts. She then motions the monk toward her chest. The girl pulls the monk down and gets on top of him, lifting her robes, revealing her buttocks and pubic hair. She starts pulling on the monk's clothes and undressing him before thrusting herself. Fully nude, the monk thrusts into her while kissing her on the lips. Eventually they climax and lay together while kissing and caressing.

A young monk has sex with a peasant girl. It features her bare breasts and graphic shots of her genitals and buttocks, including the monk's butt, pubic hair and a very brief glimpse of his penis, as well as some explicit vaginal thrusting.

A man throws something below a man and a young man, but they dodge the object.

A dead body of a man is shown in a cauldron upside down with blood. The feet are shown. When he is moved out, he is covered in blood.

Many references of violent deaths throughout.

A fat man drowns in a bathtub.

Food is thrown at poor people from the cliff of a castle.

A chicken excretes on a woman's eye. Others laugh.

A man falls into a hole. The boy saves him.

A peasant girl spits on a man.

An old man knock over a lamp which burns a shelf of books.

A man self-flagellates.

A rat is killed by being bashed against a rock.

An animal heart oozing blood is shown.

This film includes murder and torture scenes, though much of the violence takes place off camera. It has vivid depictions of the aftermath of murder and torture, including blood, autopsy scenes, and an impaled body. A monk catches fire, and people are burned at the stake.

There is a scene of animal slaughter that is very crude and upsetting.

This film contains mild profanity ... bitch, hell, damn.

No depiction and/or discussion of drinking, smoking, drugs, etc. etc.

Salvatore creeps out Adso.

There are ugly-looking men throughout the film such as an old man's eyes that fade.

A fat man has very white skin (as white as paper).

Some scenes take place at night that can feel very eerie.

The deaths are shown with graphic details.

A boy and a man get split up in a series of corridors.

This film contains a number of bloody scenes and the plot is very dark and intricate.
