The four cenobites are all very horrific and graphic looking, including one with no skin on and no eyes, one that is fat and has no mouth or eyes - sunglasses cover this - one whose neck is open and we see the inside of it many times, and the lead cenobite has nails all over his head and speaks in a frighteningly deep and booming voice.

There are many intense scenes of violence within Hellraiser, which are very disturbing to watch.

Subject matter is very dark and has adult themes such as S&M. Bloody, gory mess throughout.
