It's frightening at times but what else are you expecting from an 80's slasher film.

A handful of deaths in the film take place offscreen, or are blocked from camera view and lack explicit gore, but could still be considered frightening and intense. There are a number of shots in which the villain suddenly appears that are meant to frighten the viewer, or are played for suspense as he lurks in the bushes.
