This film has been known as being a parable of child abuse. Nestor is thrown out of his home due to the anger of his owner.

One use of "what the blazes?"

The mothers death is very similar to that scene in Bambi. It's a very sad moment, Nestor is sad, and at one points he says "Ears, Nestor" the way his mother always would. It may make some viewers cry.
