Bartleby's character is a little creepy in this version, and coupled with the eerie hammered dulcimer score, authentic Victorian costumes and scenery, and dark (sometimes stark) cinematography, this version gives off a slight Night Gallery vibe that some younger children might find unsettling. Most, however, won't have any problem with it.
