While he walks through a busy central street in Buenos Aires, celebrated French anthropologist Marc Augé speaks about the way he foresees a coming society composed of three classes: an oligarchy of power, knowledge and wealth, a class of consumers and a majority of people excluded from consumption as well as from science and prosperity. "We are not heading towards a democracy", he states. And adds: "Should we not make a tremendous effort in reorienting educational politics, we'll go into a violent chain of events."
