In 1958, the Invading Column number 8 under the command of Che Guevara, arrives to Ciego de Ávila on its way to Havana. Once there, the Comandante meets Juan Olimpio Valcárcel 'Tin', a physically disable kid who, after helping the guerrilleros, asks Guevara to join the Column. Che tells him that he can't take him because of his physical condition, but promises to bring him to Havana after the Revolution succeeds and provide him with education and health care. Nevertheless, before continuing the march, the kid asks the guerrilla leader to take his mare with him, which is his only toy and mean of transportation. Soon after the triumph of the Revolution, Che asks the authorities of Ciego de Ávila to bring 'Tin' and his mother to Havana in order to fulfill his promise. A terrible accident finishes with the lives of both of them on their way to the capital. More than 50 years later, Eric Manuel, a disable kid from Ciego de Ávila, takes part in the echoes that 'Tin' left in the region as a myth of the Revolution. Through his daily life and closest environment, as well as through relevant figures of the story of 'Tin', we will get to know the tale along with Eric, as well as its resonance nowadays, discovering the shared ground between both kids and the differences between the myth and reality in today's Cuba.
