Mia (17) wows hit music producer FASA (30s) at her high school talent contest and wins a recording contract, while her BFF/rival Lindsay (18) bombs. Encouraged by her mother Grace (40s), Mia's star rises-while Lindsay and her momager Ellen (40s), convinced Lindsay should have won, set out to destroy them both.
