City Woes (2015)

Karima is a college freshmen who has just moved to New York City from the Midwest. She is staying with a family's friend, Maria, who is a busy lawyer and an immigrant from the Dominican Republic. Karima has a difficult time adapting to the city and making friends, which reminds Maria of her struggles when she first moved to the US. Maria decides to reveal to Karima about her past as both women try to figure out what it means to adapt to a new place.
