Thirty years after their final confrontation at the 1984 All Valley Karate Tournament, Johnny Lawrence is at rock-bottom as an unemployed handyman haunted by his wasted life. However, when Johnny rescues bullied kid Miguel from tormentors, he is inspired to restart the notorious Cobra Kai dojo. However, this revitalization of his life and related misunderstandings find Johnny restarting his old rivalry with Daniel LaRusso, a successful businessman who may be happily married, but is missing an essential balance in life since the death of his mentor, Mr. Miyagi. Even as this antipathy festers, it finds itself reflected in their protegees as Miguel and his comrades are gradually poisoned by Cobra Kai's thuggish philosophy. Meanwhile, while Daniel's daughter Samantha finds herself in the middle of this conflict amidst false friends, Johnny's estranged miscreant son Robby finds himself inadvertently coming under Daniel's wing and flourishes in ways worthy of Mr. Miyagi.

Parent Guide

A scene where two people kiss nothing else.

There are scenes involving passionate kissing. However, this never turns into anything more. The show isn't as bad as people say, there's no sex or nudity. It's mainly just the amount of jokes in it.

An older man acts creepy to a teenage girl. Nothing happens as another man intervenes and threatens the harasser.

Two adult characters start kissing before both walking into a room and closing the door. The scene ends there. In a later scene we see the same couple in bed, the man is shirtless and the woman is under the sheets with a bra (not explicit) (No nudity is shown) this scene implies they both had sex the night before.

Bloodless (almost always) karate combat. Street fights, refereed athletic practices and sports violence is to be expected, but nothing graphic. There are degrading, violent verbal outbursts from adults as well.

A mans earlobe is ripped off showing some blood, people have there heads bashed with metal objects along with their faces smashed on tables, glass etc. usually showing bloodied faces.

In season 3, a man breaks another man's finger. He then puts a cigar slicer on the man's finger and threatens to cut it off. The scene ends before anything happens and we are never told whether he cut it off or not.

Old Vietnam War flashbacks with a lot of violence, including a moment where it looks like a characters' head was blown off but nothing is shown.

In season 4, a handful of teenage boys are lined up as a girl goes down the line, kicking each of them in the groin once. It is hard to digest. It is shown as a training exercise. It is implied that none of them were wearing cups. A boy is also tied up and is accidentally hit in the groin.

A man gets beat up brutally by a villain in Season 4. The man is later shown hospitalized, bruised with stiches and mildly bloody. The scene is intense but not too violent.

Season 5 contains a lot more violence and blood than the previous seasons

Moderate to severe violence in season 5 but the rest it's probably mild to moderate.

A man gets his finger cut off with blood splattering in Season 5, although this is brief.

In Season 5, a girl is forced to punch a stone figure as a form of punishment. Her hand gets bloody

In season 5 a man gets part of his body cut with a sword. Bloody and the most violent scene throughout the entire series, along with when the guys finger is cut off.

Not only does this edgy series have vintage stars, it has questionably vintage-level violence -- lots of fighting in the ring, as you'd expect from a show about a martial arts dojo, but also street fighting and bullying: A character is beaten and then shoved violently into a bush; a grown man then uses karate to violently subdue the teen perpetrators. There's no blood, gore, or visible injuries, but characters often hit first and talk later.

The Season 1-4 has mild to moderate martial arts violence, but the Season 5 has moderate to severe, but much more strong violence than the previous season.

TV-14 violence type: blood, brutal, and graphic.

Although most of the violence in the show is TV-14 appropriate. The ending of Season 6 Part 2 definitely pushes a TV-MA rating.

There's a scene where man's finger get sliced of with a katana. Only scene where you REALLY see blood in the whole six seasons.

A Teenager is kicked, punched, and tackled on the ground. He is then punched multiple times with loud punching sounds, implying blood is going everywhere. The camera is on the character who is beating the other person, so you don't see his battered face. After, he gets off him and spits on him. You can also hear him crying in the background.

In season six, Tory kicks Zara in the face, she falls to the ground as some blood falls out of her mouth, and also a tooth. Afterwards, Tory is called "The Tooth Fairy" by many kids trying to get her autograph.

A Teenager trips and falls on a knife you see him lying on the floor, dead. There is blood surrounding him and coming out his mouth aswell. This is the only death in the whole show. This isn't very bloody though. (RIP KWON)

Intense fight scenes are common, with small hints of blood like bleeding noses and ears.
