At the firefighter memorial, the leader of the Fire fighter talks about men who have died in real life in the fire including a freak helicopter crash which killed one of their pilots.

One of the women serving in the Firefighter prison camp mentions she was an alcoholic and got in trouble with the law and decides to serve the firefighter crew as a volunteer.
