This story is the result of a gunshot. I shot a man who tried to kill me during a robbery, and, in the moments before his last breath, while waiting for the paramedics' assistance, he told me about his son. Making this drama is exorcising what happened to both of us that day, and it also represents my wish for GUACHARACO, this made up boy, who is also the son of that man. Guacharaco is , as well, my grandfather: A fatherless illiterate man who, thanks to his arduous work as a farmer in the inhospitable Venezuelan plains, put his sons through University. Guacharaco is also my country, it is also hope, after twenty years in which dictatorship has , in a systematic and organized way, decomposed the value of work and nourished violence; Guacharaco shatters that legacy and decides, through resistance, to create a different story for himself; this being, however, a reaction contrary to the untold sensation left by a deadly bullet. I am, We are Guacharaco as well: We resist with the cinema and ride in the race by his side as a response to what we no longer want. Luis Antonio.
