Prairie Tides (2003)

This documentary tells the story of the Illinois and Michigan (I and M) Canal and the resulting effects on the development of Chicago. The program details the surveying of the land, development of the canal, completion of the canal and the eventual disrepair. Other topics discussed include the founding of the Chicago Board of Trade, Chicago early sewage issues, Chicago Fire, the World's Fair of 1893, and present day condition.
