Twelfth Man is an ensemble comedy following the trails and tribulations of a touring theatre company trying to perform William Shakespeare's Twelfth night while secretly watching the 1966 World Cup final on a TV backstage. Harry, is the play's leading man, and a gambling addict who has placed a large and ill-advised bet on a Germany win. Diana is the stoically seasoned professional who only cares about impressing a critic in the audience. Suzie is the bright young starlet of the show who finds herself in a personal crisis that has nothing to do with the play or the match. The rest of the cast and stage crew are all over the place trying to keep the play on track while watching the football, as is audience member Stanley who's been dragged along to the theatre by his other half Nora. Will the play make it to the end? Will England make it to the trophy?
