Tunis today. Three women, three testimonies. Houda, Mabrouka and Faouzia have in common the Tasfih, a ritual which aims to protect young girls from any penetration, desired or suffered, before marriage. The spell aims to "close" the little girls, and "opens" the young women again on the eve of their wedding night. Le Verrou talks about the female body, its representations in public and private space, the place of women in intimacy, family, Tunisian society, and offers a reflection on a heritage torn between traditions and deep need for emancipation.
