A Beautiful Desert

The very rational Dutch architect Willem meets on a job in Finland, the intriguing, but highly chaotic and unstable Lydia, a literary translator. It is love at first sight. When he invites her to go back with him to Rotterdam she warns him that she is trouble. But Willem insists. These two lovers, who met so unexpectedly, turn out to be two damaged souls. What follows is a maelstrom of emotions, of submission and rejection. A mental torment that is fought at the very edge of mind and body.
