Wild Kitchen is a 22-minute documentary TV series about wild food, the people who harvest it, their unique stories that compel them to live off the land. Wild Kitchen is hosted by Inuit actor and performing artist, Tiffany Ayalik, who will bring a sense of curiously and enthusiasm to learn new skills, and also a deeply rooted upbringing in land-based subsistence that she can draw on to create stimulating dialog with her featured guests. Each episode would focus on a specific location, be it wilderness, rural or urban, where land based living is part of the lifestyle. While food harvesting is the main theme, the story will be developed around subjects such as off-grid living and infrastructure, gardening, traditional knowledge, permaculture practices, or anything else that is connected to the lifestyle of living sustainably in a unique community. Connections to cultural significance will also be important, whether its Indigenous hunters in the North, pioneering homesteaders, multi-generational fisherman, etc. Wild Kitchen will be similar to the Netflix Original documentary series, Chef's Table, where the focus isn't so much the actual preparation of the food, but the story of the people who live and harvest in the remote wilderness. It will be visually captivating and emotionally stimulating. A digital media component will accompany the show where short webisodes will highlight the "how-to" aspect of food preparation, with specific measurements and instructions.
