1200 Roommates (2017)

1200 Roommates is a virtual reality film created for the largest homeless shelter in North America. It encapsulates the claustrophobic experience of homelessness in a shelter, and the loss of not just a home - but emotional privacy. The artwork by revered Canadian artist, Mandy Stobo was all created entirely in Virtual Reality using Oculus Quill and then animated into the moving account of having 1200 Roommates. Its unique visual tone and voice captures an unimaginable experience without exploiting those suffering from it.
