An American to Be (2016)

On the fourth of July, fireworks trigger a south Asian immigrant's PTSD from the war and memories with his American girlfriend. He discovers his naturalization citizenship after serving in the military is denied. He proposes, but a racially motivated road rage incident causes an accident by triggering a flashback. He ponders revenge and contemplates suicide.
