In 2014, 21-year-old Kenzey phoned NHS Direct to report that her 7-month-old daughter was displaying signs of severe trauma. Shortly after, she was charged with child cruelty and failing to protect her daughter from a violent assault by her boyfriend. With unprecedented access to a defendant, her family and her legal team this tense documentary charts every twist and turn of the case following Kenzey up to and through her trial, as her legal team mounts her defence to avert a possible jail sentence of 10 years or more.
