Canary

Canary is set in 1984 in a Northern English village and focuses on Joseph Cole and Ernest Mills, two local miners. It follows their struggles against political events they cannot control and personal obstacles such as Ernest's mental illness and Joe's worry for a childhood friend. It displays a community sticking together and banding in times of trouble but also the vast divide it caused.
