Místo nepokoje (2015)

A border town is being rocked by anti-Roma demonstrations. We follow two locals strongly impacted by these demonstrations. An orderly older man who has undergone military training gradually reveals his hatred of "parasites" and calls for radical solutions. And a young Romany who from the age of seven has mainly grown up within the majority society starts becoming aware of his origins and looking for ways to help other Romanies. The documentary Area of Unrest takes a look behind the facade of unrelenting anti-Romany marches in the remote border town. It does not judge. It merely shows the often merciless and irrational hatred of the protesters and confused helplessness of those they are protesting against. Who will find a way out of this situation? Area of Unrest is an independent film, which was financed solely by the author.
