There is a recurring joke involving the circumstances behind Ed's death which leaves many around him to believe that he died from auto-erotic asphyxiation, in reality it is revealed that he in fact died after his tie got stuck in a door and he tripped on some wine causing him to strangle and his trousers to fall round his ankles. During his struggle to escape he accidently switches on an adult channel however no sex or nudity occurs as only the comic setup is shown.
Ed discovers that he inadvertently caused his former teacher to become bullied over a joke he made at school; calling his teacher 'Mr Blowman' instead of 'Mr Bowman'. At one point a female student asks him what it was like to 'blow a man'.
