1743, Limburg, the Netherlands. People are starving and suppressed by the ruling power. Poor working people unit in small groups to revolt against their rulers and call themselves Buckriders. When captain of the Buckriders Matthijs Ponts is being arrested, his son Thias is forced to make decisions which will determine his future.
