A simple smartphone video tribute filmed inside the house of my maternal grandfather, Cheong Chee, in Ipoh, Malaysia. Chinese immigrant who fled the horrific civil war in Guangzhou, and forged a new life in the town of Ipoh, then a British colony. Building everything from scratch, beginning in a humble pork stall to eventually becoming a tin mine tycoon. He didn't forget those that helped him achieve success and became a passionate philanthropist and politician. Cheong Chee had 3 legal wives, more than a dozen children, 24 grandchildren and countless comrades from Indians, Muslims, British, Sikhs and Chinese minorities. He was a legend in Ipoh.
