Screenwriter Tibor Kovacs suffers through the convoluted bureaucratic machine of the Democratic People's Republic of Eszterovia after being accused of writing subversive materials. He is interrogated, stands trial, and faces execution. Innocent little Kovacs did not choose the martyr's life; the martyr's life chose him.
