Given his tumultuous biography, one cannot expect Henry Mittwer to spend his last days in peace at a temple, even if he actually is a Zen monk. Born in Yokohama as a son to a Japanese mother and an American father, he was detained in segregation camps in the US during WWII, then returned to Japan and joined the monastery. Takayuki NAKAMURA has discovered a truly fascinating protagonist for this documentary film.
