Rise of the Informal City (2016)

Without access to housing and basic services, rural-to-urban migrants in Buenos Aires create their own solutions by taking land and building large informal squatter settlements. Discrimination and being regarded as havens for criminals by society and the media has isolated these informal settlements, creating an environment where they have developed their own internal economies, culture and urban forms.
