'The Challenge' is a documentary revolving around the age-old sport of falconry in the Middle East. The film features the filmmaker following a falconer as he travels across the Arabian Gulf to attend a falconry competition in Qatar.
The film depicts how falconry, which was a favorite sport of the medieval aristocracy, retains its prestige in contemporary Arab culture, and how it is played out within the trappings of extreme wealth.
There are also some depictions of the sport which involve falcons hunting and killing pigeons.
There are no details shown as only the aftermath of the killings are shown through the depiction of the blood and strewn feathers on the ground.
