A couple of researchers seem romantically involved with other. It is known that the blonde has a relationship with one of the researchers as another colleague before he sets out on a field assignment, tells them to "behave themselves", though in a joking manner.

The blonde and her boyfriend attempt to share some intimacy while alone in the lab. They are interrupted by a radio message.

There is some flirting between other researchers. Generally passive.

A musher and his sled dog team are attacked. The dogs are dragged to the edge of water where they are eaten by a shark. Some blood involved. The musher is last to be dragged into the same pool of water and eaten.

A man and woman sent to look for the missing musher and his team find the remains, mostly large amounts of blood somehow left all over the icy arctic surface.

A man is attacked by a shark while on the ice. The man gets his leg caught on a grappling hook and rope-line left out on the ice. As the shark thrashes around, it snares the rope and winds up tearing the man's right leg off in the process. This is the most blood and gore in the movie as his wound is visible for several minutes as he tried to apply a tourniquet but dies from excessive blood-loss before he tie off his wound.

Strictly "shark-on-human" violence. There are several people killed in attacks. The majority of the attacks on humans are generally quick and non-graphic.

Some viewers may find the shark-attack involving a man having his leg torn off, to be disturbing as it takes a few minutes for the incident to finish out, especially with the failed attempt to apply a tourniquet to the wound.
