A good hearted man is pushed too far by a psychologically abusive and manipulative wife, setting in motion a chain of cruelty that no one can stop. Though it is too late for him, it is not too late for the psychiatrist who is trying to help him, who has just discovered that her own relationship at home has turned abusive.
