The Manual of Detection

The story follows Charles Unwin, a meek, methodical clerk who is suddenly promoted to detective and set on the trail of a legendary adversary after the disappearance of his famous colleague. Unwin finds himself at the center of a battle between chaos and order as he stumbles through the race against time in unearthing the plot to control people's minds by infiltrating their dreams.
