Part of the film centers around racial discrimination in the United States. We see a security guard escort a black family from a library. The mother tells the guard to not touch her two sons. There is also a scene with a protest of black people, fighting for equal rights. No blood or confrontation seen.
Footage (both vintage newsreel stock footage, and newly filmed material for the movie) does feature the attitudes towards African-Americans that were common at the time of filming, including growling police dogs ready to lunge at peaceful protesters. However the amount of actual violence shown on screen is very minimal.
