'Alky Alky' is an exploration of its protagonists mental state and his struggles with alcoholism. As the film progresses, Tobias is seen to become increasingly unhinged as he loses control over his drinking, his job and eventually, his marriage.

The film contains a scene where Tobias is seen lying in bed with his best friend in a drunken stupor, while stroking his friends hair.

Another scene depicts him kissing his best friend who has managed to persuade him into binge-drinking again.
