asa, a young soldier from Congo, strands upon a shore in Southern France as a boat full of immigrants crashes in the waves. Without identity papers, he crosses countries in search for safety, love and a place in life. He shares the destiny of men and women crossing boarders at great danger, or living in the outskirts of a big town as short-time workers with no rights. Nearby is the wild nature and the sea, the Riviera. Masa spends time in the hills beneath Marseille and discovers love with the young mother Sandra. But their life together is affected by the concurrence for economical survival. Finally, Masa finds a place for himself as he signs up in the foreign legion. He's given a new identity through becoming a soldier again, training for war. But with a weapon in his hand Masa can start his own revolution.
