Alexey has got it all: a well-paid job, a nice car, and a woman he is in love with (Sonya). Moreover, Sonya also happens to be a daughter of an oligarch and is to become his wife in 10 days. Urged by Sonya's dad, Alexey sets out on a business trip to a village of Kurkioki to acquire timber. While travelling by train, Alexey meets Vera - a shy and reserved fellow-traveller. All his attempts to engage her into a conversation fail. Bored to death, Alexey ends up getting drunk as a lord and wakes up the next morning at the Kurkioki train station, robbed of all his personal belongings. To live up to the expectations of Sonya's dad, Alexey nonetheless starts out for the meeting he's come for. As fortune would have it, his ex-fellow-traveller Vera turns out to be the very director of the timber mill he needs to make a deal with. Vera refuses to enter into negotiations with a guy without an ID, and so there is nothing left for Alexey to do but to find a place to spend the night and wait for Sonya to arrive. Alexey has got mere two days to enjoy the serenity of the countryside, get to know the locals and fall in love with Vera, as the day of marriage draws closer and closer...
