Top of the Pops: The Story of 1980 (2015)

This documentary explores the changes that took place on Top of the Pops in 1980, a year that both pop music and TOTP changed. A new generation of British pop arrived and the veteran TOTP orchestra was laid off, resulting in a Musician's Union strike that took the program off the air for nine weeks. A new producer also introduced a series of celebrity guest co-presenters and doubled the studio audience. Featuring many interviews with stars, and the music of the time.
