The Idea for this Animation came from an Enterprise Challenge to promote the Childrens Charter. Working with all the feeder primaries and senior pupils from the Dundee area. The brief was to create a 30 second television advert would promote the Childrens Charter but also made the point that the Charter was for everyone. The Winning team came up with a character called Charterman and the humorous overtones in their scenario swung it with the judges. Bruce Husband worked with the same pupils to develop ideas for the content of the animation. The pupils then storyboarded and created and made some of the models. The story is a Classic tale of Bullying, which incidentally figured heavily in the scenarios during the Enterprise Challenge. The Underlying messages are that we all have powers and qualities within us that allows us to be confident and have the self belief that enables each one of us to live fulfilling lives, but that needs to be nurtured. The Childrens Charter can help provide a framework to achieve this.
