When Kara's troublesome sister Nisha returns to disrupt her comfortable life with her best friend Sean, everyone's demons resurface, causing conflict, trauma, and eventually tragedy. Kara and Sean live comfortably: they both have nice jobs, they get to eat takeaways, get to hang out, Sean gets to date all the pretty girls he could ask for, while Kara hunts her next big career break. In short, there is nothing that even hints at their lives not being perfect. But something lurks in their past - a secret, a hurtful truth that both of them don't like to talk about, don't like to address. When Kara's older sister Nisha returns to their city, however, Sean and Kara can no longer pretend that everything has always been fine. Nisha is loud, she is demanding, she is rude - but she is a victim, too. The three of them must wrestle with each other and their own traumatic pasts - and the ever-lingering guilt that hangs in the air like a stench they can't quite get rid of. It all comes to a head when Sean puts his foot down, throwing Nisha out, which causes her to lose hope... and lose her life. Sean and Kara are left to pick up the pieces - but can they?
