He was brought to Batavia via Semarang, a trip by boat that he has never experienced before. This trip happened when he was afflicted by malaria. He was accompanied by his close relatives (wife, sister, and brother-in-law) and 16 of his vassals. 26 days in Batavia's city hall (Stadhuis), the prince has to wait for the Dutch East Indies government's decision about his future as a political prisoner finally to be resolved at the end of April. This journey is a turning point that is full of reflection for the prince. He used to be a leader of the Java war. Thousands of people trusted him. He was the Dutch government's worst nightmare.
