The Private Pennies of His Merry Dobbs (1998)

Marvin Dobbs is the celebrated filmmaker laureate in the country of Banduba. He is revered by his patron, mob boss Doctor Jangle...until it comes out that Dobbs has been romancing Jangle's wife, Camilla. Jangle puts a hit out on Dobbs, and his henchman succeed in killing the filmmaker...again and again, his death always remaining sketchy and uncertain...as dreamlike and ambiguous as the films he makes.
