Peter and Jerry meet on a bench in Central Park, New York. Peter is a well established publishing executive, while Jerry is an isolated soul, desperate to have a meaningful conversation and intruding on Peter by interrogating him and forcing him to listen to stories about his life. Themes of isolation, loneliness, miscommunication and dehumanization are explored in Albee's 1958 dramatic debut.
