We Are Gathered Here Today (2022)

What isn't talked about during this COVID-19 pandemic is that when someone is taken to the hospital it's a curbside drop-off. COVID-19 hospital protocols dictate that family members are not allowed to be at the side of their loved ones to comfort them in their time of most need. This film explores the emotions over 1 million U.S. families have gone through since this deadly pandemic started. We Are Gathered Here Today is a film about a multi-generational mixed-race family coming together to say their last goodbye to the patriarch of the family, while at the same time dealing with other underlying issues that family gatherings can bring. All of which take place over Google Meet video conferencing.
