An ex-military black man, after losing his wife and son, decides to take the law into his own hands by taking out twelve of the most evil people he can find. Malcom symbolizes the militant more liberal idealist viewpoint. He stands for those that feel our government and systems have failed us to the point that we must take this justice into our own hands. While his intentions may be good, his methods cannot be excused. The Police stand for the ideal of organized and law abiding justice. Their purpose and intentions are good but, in action, their force may not always fulfill it. Finally, the News or the free press symbolizes the many accounts that can come from a single event and how their portrayal of it alone can change the way the public views a person or scenario.
