Unlike his wife and two of his three children, Aron Blank survived Nazi rule and concentration camps. In 1945 he returned to Germany, to Berlin, to try a new start. He changes everything that could remind him (but also others) of the past horror: he gives his first name at the passport office as Aron, it seems "less treacherous" to him, he "rejuvenates" his date of birth by six years, just that Years of war, he dyes his gray hair black.
