This film is a video diary, a form of self portrait. The film relays the state of being after having experienced a past trauma. The pace is done accordingly. It begins with a stark stare into the self, into the mirror reflecting the self: 'Where have all the years gone by? Where are their traces?', she asks herself. This is the initial search, the first question. The expedition is into a reconstructed self or yet a self under reconstruction. There has been a lapse in time. A suspension. But was it really that? Was it time being suspended or was it the breakdown of every moment. Images of the self being reconstructed, the journey to recovery. The lessons, the attempts, the body, the self. There is nothing that is yet fixed in its place yet the contemplation is worth the while. Each frame is a contemplation of a moment between moment present and moment past. This is the search, for the point of balance in between. Is there love here? Is there hate? Is there disappointment or is there hope? What is the worst fear? What is the journey really? And to where? Perhaps it's an aimless 'balade' with a woman who's life is as aimless, or maybe it's some vision into what the future may hold. Its potential. There is this confusion because that is the truth. We begin with a construction, we deconstruct, we sing, we try, and we end with a dance.
