The Night Shift (2019)

Rachel, a workaholic surgeon, spends Christmas Eve in the operating room. Her mother Elaine, whom she has a troubled relationship, attempts to reconnect by surprising her at the hospital. Rachel avoids her mother and has a nurse send her away. On her way home, Elaine gets in a car accident and winds up back at the hospital. Rachel learns that her mother is now a patient in need of emergency surgery. The other surgeons prevent Rachel from entering the operating room, as she cannot operate on a family member. Unable to help her mother, Rachel waits in the waiting room.
